Call for Papers

For the second time, NAVSA and AVSA will join forces for a conference in Italy.  This time the event will occur  at NYU’s La Pietra campus in Florence (pictured above).  The conference will run from May 17 to May 20, 2017 and will be run jointly by NYU and Purdue.

There will be no specific theme—any topic of interest to Victorian scholars will be considered; however, given the location, we would be particularly interested to see papers on topics such as:  the Victorians in Italy, the representation of Italy in the nineteenth century, private collections, tourism, art, and garden design.

Proposals will be due October 1, 2016. They should be two pages (500 words) with a one-page curriculum vitae and should be submitted electronically as an attachment in .pdf format at the following URL:
